You can find the correct course level by taking a diagnostic placement test at the very start of the programme. We teach you at eight different skill levels.

The Grundstufe (Elementary) levels 1,2 and 3 focus largely on general language acquisition. Assuming no prior knowledge, they lay the foundations on which to build further language skills.

The three Mittelstufe (Intermediate) levels enable, in addition to continuing the general language emphasis, the first orientation towards specialised themes, such as business, technology, culture and society. They lead you towards adequate communication skills for study and work.

Having completed the Oberstufe (Advanced) levels, you are fully competent in the German language to meet the demands of a formal course of study or professional position in Germany, Austria or, naturally, any other German-speaking country or region.

Each of the eight course levels is equivalent to approximately 100 instructional units taken in group lessons.
