1980 Foundation and commencement of tuition with about 60 students in Heidelberg. Expansion of range of courses and opening of branch in Darmstadt, Eberstadt/Michelstadt, Wiesloch and Bensheim.
1981 The first F+U language school opens in Heidelberg.
1986 The first college of education in Heidelberg, the Fachschule für Arbeitserziehung is approved by the Governmental Committee in Karlsruhe. Further schools are opened over subsequent years.
1990 Following German Reunification, branches are established in Bautzen, Erfurt, Gotha, Chemnitz, Mühlhausen and Neukirch. The number of students grows to 4,000 per month.
1991 We offer seminars in the Hotel and Catering trades in Alassio, Liguria (Italy).
1994 The FORCE-Project “Training concepts for small and medium-sized enterprises in Saxony and Liguria” initiates our participation in European educational programmes.
1995 In Alassio, Italy, the first F+U language school outside Germany is established. By 2003 the F+U will have expanded its system of own language schools and partnerships into the following countries; Spain, Austria, England, Malta, Ireland, Italy, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
1996 Our branches in Thuringia and Saxony become independent subsidiary companies.
1997 Initiation of first correspondence course, “Further Education in Network Administration”, monitored and approved by the Staatlichen Zentralstelle für Fernunterricht. Within the parameters of the PHARE programme we restructure the state-controlled food standards authority in Lithuania.
1998 F+U established in Tenerife, Spain.
1999 Following the establishment of branches in Ludwigshafen and Göttingen, the F+U is represented in seven German federal states, as well as in Italy and Spain. The F+U Group is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001
2000 Foundation of Academy 24, offering correspondence courses in Information Technology.
2001 International co-operation is consolidated. With the European “Leonardo da Vinci” initiative the F+U Saxony becomes a project partner for 13 programmes in the Canary Islands.
2002 Opening of the F+U Berlin.
2003 Further Education Colleges of Commerce opened in Berlin, Erfurt/Weimar, Göttingen, Heidelberg and Chemnitz. The F+U Vienna is established. |
